Volunteering for the WVAC Who we are......... The Volunteers of the Waymart Volunteer Ambulance Corps are men and women ranging in ages 16-70. We are truck drivers, teachers, computer technicians, high school and college students, firefighters, and other emergency professionals who volunteer their time to help you. We are dedicated people, who are you neighbors and friends, and trained to many different certification levels including First Aid, CPR, Emergency Medical Technicians, and First Responders. We constantly train to continue providing professional emergency medical services to everyone in need. Our members continue to spend countless hours training in various aspects of emergency medicine including, trauma, vehicle rescue, cardiac, respiratory, pediatric emergencies, and also water rescue. Also we are constantly practicing the newest and best procedures in our field of practice. Who we need......... We are always in need of volunteer responders. No past training or experience is mandatory to join! The WVAC pays for all training needed for you to answer the calls that we answer to. Not interested in riding on an ambulance?????? Volunteers with business experience are also needed to help run the administrative side of the corps. Who to contact........ The WVAC has monthly meetings on the third Monday of every month at 7:00 PM. Call 488-5580 or stop in Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm to ask any questions or obtain a membership application.
